Katschberg is in Carinthia, on the Katschberghöhe pass at an altitude of 1,650 m above sea level, near Lienz and just 110 km from Salzburg. From Italy, it can be reached by taking the motorway for Venice, Udine and Tarvisio. You enter Austria, (remember to buy the motorway pass at the border; in Austria there are frequent checks for the motorway pass and for speeding), after Villach, continue to Lienz, following the directions towards Salzburg. Rennweg exit before the Tauri tunnel. 7 km of mountain road, climbing up to the pass.

By car from the north: Motorway A 10 towards Villach – exit at St. Michael – follow indications towards St. Michael - after 3 km, turn right onto the B 99 Katschberg-Bundesstraße – after about 6 km, you reach the Katschberghöhe pass – about 300 m on from the Katschberghöhe, turn left
By car from the south: Motorway A 10 towards Salzburg – Rennweg exit – take the B 99 Katschberg-Bundesstraße – proceed for about 5.5 km – about 300 m before the Katschberghöhe pass, turn right.
By train:
