By car
From Italy, take the motorway for Venice, Udine, Tarvisio. You enter Austria (remember to buy the motorway pass at the border: in Austria there are frequent checks for the motorway pass and for speeding), and then, after Villach, continue towards Lien, following the directions for Salzburg. Take the Rennweg exit before the Tauri tunnel. Drive upwards for 7 km on a mountain road to reach the pass.

By train:
